MICHAEL HAMBLIN, MD

Dr. Michael Hamblin graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During his fourth year of medical school, he discovered a growing new field, Interventional Radiology. After only three days of exposure to IR, he changed his career path and pursued a future in this growing field. He stayed in Ann Arbor for his four years of diagnostic radiology residency, where he grew to appreciate both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. After residency, Dr. Hamblin moved to Chicago to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He has been on staff at Amita St. Francis Hospital since 2005.

Dr. Hamblin is involved in nearly all facets of Interventional Radiology. He continues to be excited about the minimally invasive approach, with the newest techniques and technology to improve outcomes. Dr. Hamblin has added service lines such as Fibroid embolization, Vertebral Body Cement Augmentation, and has been heavily involved in Critical Limb Ischemia treatments and Endovascular Aneurysm Treatments. He has dedicated a significant amount of time to resident education. Several of his past residents have also chosen careers in Interventional Radiology. This academic association has allowed him to pursue scholarly activity as well.

In his free time, Dr. Hamblin enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
